SOLAR JOBS, ENERGY, AND POWER
This course covers the following aspects of solar jobs within the solar industry: installation of photovoltaic systems and introduction to residential, commercial and utility scale use. Students will learn calculations for residential and commercial systems. Students are suggested to bring a calculator. We will discuss power, voltage, current, energy of photovoltaic solar energy systems, and solar contracting. Hands-on activities. Solar kits will be used to demonstrate the relationship between power, voltage, current and calculations of expected energy from solar energy systems.

ELECTRICAL CONTROLS CLASS
Enrollment is limited to 20 students. Learn how to read electrical schematics and ladder drawings. Understand motor control circuits, relay logic, circuit protection, transformers, generators, power distribution, automation, programmable logic control and variable frequency drives. Students will learn electrical troubleshooting methods using different types of testing equipment.

WELDING FUNDAMENTALS – ARC/GAS/COMBINATION

APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM for Plumbers and Pipe Fitters
This Apprenticeship Training is for plumbers and pipe fitters. You will gain knowledge in math and mechanical reasoning to prepare you for the union apprenticeship test. Registration is on-going at the Serra campus and meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00-8:00pm.


RICHMOND BUILD
Richmond BUILD is an intensive 16-week pre-apprenticeship program that prepares Richmond residents for entry-level careers in the construction trades, as well as emerging green-collar jobs in solar installation and energy efficiency. Requirements: Richmond resident, 18 yrs of age or older, H.S. Diploma or GED, right to work, ability to pass drug test, ability to pass basic math and reading test. HOME/BUILDING MAINTENANCE REPAIRER CERTIFICATE
Enrollment is limited to 18 students. This class is hands-on training in basic carpentry, electrical, lock installation, blueprint reading and plumbing. Tools and supplies provided. You must complete 20 hours to receive certificate.

HVAC - II

This is an advanced class designed to give the student working skills to become a professional HVAC maintenance person or technician. The student will learn how to test, adjust and balance a variety of mechanical and electrical systems.
