BASIC MATH REFRESHER
Do you have your diploma or GED and still have a hard time with math? Do you struggle helping your children with their math homework? Are pre-employment math assessments standing in the way of you getting the job you deserve? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, this class is meant for you. We will do in-depth, interactive, hands-on practice on all basic math and arithmetic skills that you will encounter in everyday life and on the job: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, measurement and percentages. This refresher course is designed to help you revitalize your rusty math skills and become prepared for today’s world and workplace, and can even introduce you to a few new concepts along the way. Students will learn how to transform their original writing into live theater. This class offers a fun approach to theater for actors of all levels, while providing opportunities for those who love to write to develop powerful or humorous performance pieces. MEDICARE PLAN REVIEW / MEDICARE DROP-IN COUNSELING DAY
Do you have questions about your Medicare health plan or prescription plan? Is your current plan ending in 2015? Are your prescriptions too expensive? Do you wonder how to choose a plan that provides the best coverage at the lowest cost for you? Do you have a problem with a Medicare bill?

HICAP may be able to save you money. Registered Contra Costa HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program) volunteers will be providing free, individual confidential counseling on these issues and more at Alvarado Campus on Saturday, Nov. 22 between 10am and 2pm. No appointment is necessary. Counseling is on a first come, first served basis. However, you can have your prescription drug plan reviewed in advance of the meeting.
