OLDER ADULT CLASSES (a)

There are two kinds of classes offered for Adults 55 years and older:

1.  Senior Centers
bring together the community with day long activities and classes

2.  Ongoing 55+ classes
at various sites and times through the week

1.SENIOR CENTERS –

Senior Centers offer fellowship, new friends, a variety of education opportunities, and resource information and entitlements. Most centers have a noon meal, snacks, and guest speakers and entertainment for special occasions. For more information, please contact the Adult School at (510) 215-4666, ext. 203. You are invited to go to any center. Courses include: Family, World, Community, The Arts, Communication, Technology, Health Literacy, Safeguarding Self and Property, and Retirement.

No registration fee – FREE! Everyone is invited to take advantage of the various classes. They meet weekly unless the enrollment drops below 12 students. You may come to the class and share the fun of learning with others.

MATURE DRIVER IMPROVEMENT
FOR DRIVERS 55 AND OLDER (a/c)

Do you want to improve your driving skills and become eligible for reduced insurance costs? This course is designed for mature drivers to help increase awareness of driving precautions that can, and should, be used to compensate for diminished physical and visual skills. When you complete this eight (8) hour course of instruction with our experienced driver education instructor, you will receive a 3 YEAR CERTIFICATE from  the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The certificate registration is your record of eligibility for REDUCED AUTO INSURANCE PREMIUMS.

Have you taken a Mature Driver or 55 Alive course in the last 3 years? If yes, look for our     4-hour refresher course will be offered quarterly beginning September 13th from 9:00 am-1:15 pm at our Serra campus.
