PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS 55+ (a)
There are two kinds of
classes offered for
Adults 55 years and older:
1.
Senior Centers
bring together the community
with day-long activities and classes
2.
Ongoing 55+ classes
at various sites and arial
through the week
1.
SENIOR CENTERS -
Senior Centers offer topical speakers, resource
information, some health screening, exercises, table games, handicrafts,
needlework, special occasion celebrations, a variety of entertainment,
occasional field trips, fellowship and friendships, massage, snacks, coffee
and lunch. In addition, instruction is available in foreign languages
(Spanish and German), computer skills, Internet access, arts and crafts,
current events and dance.
MONDAYS
St. Callistus Senior Center
8:30 am-1:30 pm

Activities include: painting classes, needlework,
quilting, crocheting and knitting, jewelry, bead-stringing, enameling on
copper, calligraphy, sit and be fit exercise, line dancing, games, special
events and speakers. Low-cost lunch.
Christ Lutheran Senior Center

Activities include: conversational German, Spanish,
computer lab, current events, line dancing, art appreciation, special
events, speakers on a variety of subjects, health, travel, entertainment,
etc. Lunch is $3 and massage is $10 for 20 minutes.
TUESDAYS
First Presbyterian Senior Center

Join this friendly, inclusive group for a fun-filled,
educational experience. Activities include: crafts (clay, beads, jewelry,
porcelain doll-making, crochet, greeting cards and placemats), speakers,
entertainment, chair exercise, line dancing, games, bingo, blood pressure
monitoring, holiday celebrations and a delicious home-made inexpensive
lunch.

Welcome! We invite adults 55+ to join our program and
select activities that interest you. Activities include: T'ai Chi, gentle
chair exercises, Spanish language instruction, a variety of arts and crafts,
conversation groups, table games, a circulating library, guest speakers,
entertainment, and trips. Lunch is $2 and massage is $7 for 15 minutes.
THURSDAYS
Pinole Senior Center

Provides social, educational, recreational, health,
nutritional, and consumer services and activities for adults 50 years and
older. Activities include ceramics, choir, computers, crafts, various games,
exercise and walking groups.
Kensington/Arlington Senior Center

A delightful day of various activities including: German
conversation, current events, or "Turtle", concluding with a lovely lunch.
Monthly schedules include: T'ai Chi, travel programs, community safety,
health presentations, movies and Chinese lunches. Come for fun, food and
fabulous friendships.
SATURDAYS (1ST AND 3RD SATURDAY OF THE MONTH ONLY)

celebrations, monthly blood pressure testing and an annual health fair.
