An overview of medical and study skills needed to be successful in medicine today. This course includes anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. This course fulfills the medical billing prerequisite.

This course will focus on Evaluation and Management coding for Outpatient. Emphasis will be on coding medical and surgical procedures and services identified with the body system and billing guidelines for reimbursement. Students will continue to learn cross-referencing of ICD-9 and CPT code books.

NURSE ASSISTANT/HOME HEALTH AIDE (a)

Learn the skills to work at the bedside and chronic long term nursing care. Develop hands-on skills to prepare to take the State Certification test. Fee includes insurance, fingerprints and CPR, state testing and materials: Gait belt, blood pressure cuff, and stethoscope. Requires Basic English proficiency. Uniform and shoes not included.

  • The CNA Pretest/Orientation date is Monday, March 31, 2008, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm in Room 10 at Alvarado Campus.

  • Call (510})215-4666 to make an appointment to attend orientation.

  • You must provide proof of current MMR, VSV and TB clearance, social security number and a Good Health Statement from physician.

  • This program requires 200 hours.

  • Book approximately $60.
