COMPOST AND GARDENING (a)

Learn how to create a beautiful healthy and toxic-free garden by attending this class with the   West Contra Costa Integrated Waste Management Authority. Discover how ordinary yard and kitchen trimmings can be turned into a nutrient rich soil enhancer by composting. The Watershed Project’s popular “Gardening with natives” section teaches how to turn your garden into a drought resistant paradise that attracts beneficial insects.  The section on “Hardscaping with Recycled Materials” shows unique techniques for building creative pathways, beds, containers and yard décor using reusable building materials.  

West Contra Costa Residents are eligible to win a Smith & Hawken BioStack Compost Bin or Wriggly Ranch Worm Bin at the end of the workshop.
